NIMk (Netherlands Media Art Institute) is pleased to invite you to a live streamed performance by Harrell Fletcher, taking place at the BMW Tate Live: Performance Room. The performance will be livestreamed on

Artist Harrell Fletcher invites buskers to take their performances from the tube stations and streets of London into the gallery to play live, online to the BMW Tate Live Performance Rooms global audience on 28 June. Harrell Fletcher’s work often takes the form of socially engaged collaborative and interdisciplinary projects. For his BMW Tate Live performance, Where Im Calling From, buskers will shift from playing to a local London audience to performing on a global online stage. By moving these musicians from tube station, to gallery space, and then back out to the world through the web, Harrell Fletcher aims to question value, and the influence of the internet.

NIMk is interested in stretching the liveness of a performance which is aimed at an anonymous, individual and global audience, and ways of turning this into a communal and shared experience. The live screening of Fletcher's performance at NIMk takes place within the context of the exhibition currently on display: 'Yes We Are Open'. This exhibition deals with 'open' aspects connected to collaboration and authorship in the internet era. For more information please see:
