The Netherlands Media Art Institute at STRP Festival Eindhoven 2011

The fifth edition of the STRP Festival is dedicated to 50 years of media art and technology in the Netherlands. NIMk collaborated on the design of the exhibition and the festival is well represented with four works from the NIMk collection in the STRP Expo and the Media Arts-Mobile / Planet M on STRP School.

The STRP is exhibiting the work of the groundbreaking pioneers of the past and the present day with the most notable projects of the new generation. In the large industrial halls of the Klokgebouw is a lively overview of past, present and future to see where new links and cross links become visible. STRP collaborated for the program next to NIMk also with V2, Steim and Optofonica.

NIMk aims it's expertise already more then 30 years at media art, through presentation, development, conservation and education. In our work at STRP we bring all these aspects in effect.

"Piece de resistance" is the work of Mill X Molen Bert Schutter in 1982. NIMk spent the past year with RCE (National Cultural Heritage, formerly ICN) to the re-installation of the iconic video sculpture. Mill X Molen now STRP for the first time since the internatinonale traveling exhibition Imago (1990 - 1993) for the Dutch public to see.



Planet M visits STRP school
November 21-24, 2011.

Planet M is the new mobile space and laboratory of NIMk for media art and digital culture. The Netherlands Media Art Institute (NIMk) offers in colaboration with STRP school two workshops in Planet M: Mobile Reporters and Gameboy camera animation. The workshops will take place between  21-24 November. More info on the workshops can be found in the dutch version of this website.

The STRP Festival takes place November 18 - 27 at the Klokgebouw in Eindhoven.
