Visual Sensations - VJ Contest

From 01-05-2004 until 12-02-2005

Visual Sensations is the first contest for VJ’s in the Netherlands and Belgium. It is impossible to imagine today’s dance and club scene without the VJ. Live VJing has developed into an independent art form which interacts with music and the audience. Visual Sensations gives incentive to both beginners and more experienced VJ’s. The VJ’s will be challenged to present their best work in front of an expert jury and an enthusiastic audience.

Eight VJ-teams battle against each other for the first prize. Finalist are: Visual Kitchen (Belgium), Résistance Électronique, SXNDRX, Subliminal Mess, SF&L en mnk, the organisation of imagination and Drifter TV Live. With DJ L-Dopa. Hosts: Ruben Dingemans and MTV Presenter Leena.

The fixed core of the jury is composed of: Gerald van der Kaap (VJ), Jacqueline Oskamp (publicist), Lucas van der Velde (VJ). For this night there are two extra members of the jury: Juha Huuskonen, director, Finse PixelACHE festival and Thomas Dumke of the CYNETart festival from Dresden, the place were number two will perform. The first prize consists of the very latest SONY digital video camera and SONY Vaio editing computer and a performance during the PixelACHE Festival ’05 Helsinki in Finland.
