Inti Guerrero will touch upon the intertwinement of socio-cultural tensions and human individuality found in the work of Omer Fast in relation to other artistic practices located in different geo-political contexts. He will further discuss how contemporary art can become a critical testimony of tragedy and conflict today.
Inti Guerrero is an Amsterdam based art critic and curator born in Bogotá, Colombia. Guerrero studied History and Theory of Art and Architecture and History at the University of the Andes in Bogota and at the University of São Paulo. He further attended the Appel's Curatorial Programme and was Curator-in-Residence at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin and at the Capacete Entretenimentos in Rio de Janeiro.
He has published articles in Afterall, Manifesta Journal, Ramona, Idea and ArtNexus . His most recent curatorial projects include: Duet for Cannibals at the Royal Tropics Institute in Amsterdam, Flying Down to Earth which was shown at both MARCO in Vigo and at FRAC Lorraine in Metz and The City of the Naked Man at the Museo de Arte Moderna in São Paulo. Currently, he works as a researcher at the Amsterdam-based curatorial platform If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revolution and acts as guest lecturer for the Rietveld Academy’s Studium Generale.
