Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ

Jacco Olivier
The Amsterdam based artist Jacco Olivier (1972) sketches small scenes in oilpaint which he transforms into surprising animation films. With brushes, lines, dots he tells familiar and often dreamlike stories. His work is widely exhibited internationally and is currently on display at Madison Square Square Park in New York (until April 2012).

The exhibition in Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ consists of three video works. Stumble (2009), Revolution (2010) and the monumental Whale (2007). Whale is projected with a width of 12 meters across the great wall of the Atrium of the Muziekgebouw and is a Dutch premiere. The exhibition lasts until Sunday, February 19, 2012.

The exhibition is a co-production between Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and the Netherlands Media Art Institute (NIMk) sponsored by the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts.

Later this season Muziekgebouw en NIMk will present exhibitions with Nicolas Provost (from March 16 ) and Marina Abramovic (during the Holland Festival).
