In his short films, Nicolas Provost (1969) plays with the grammar of Hollywood cinema and our collective cinematic experience. Provost (1969) speelt in zijn korte films met de grammatica van  en ons collectieve filmgeheugen. His work has been screened on television and presented worldwide both in visual art institutions and in prestigious international film festivals as Sundance and the  San Francisco International Film Festival.

In the Muziekgebouw three of his films are presented: Storyteller (2010), Plot Point (2007) and Stardust (2010). For the intense Storyteller Provost manipulated aerial shoots from Las Vegas to abstract, poetic images that resemble science fiction. In Plot Point and Stardust he edited scenes of everyday life from the streets of New York and Las Vegas in such a way, that the viewer constructs unconsciously a thrilling crime story .

The exhibition is a co-production between Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and the Netherlands Media Art Institute (NIMk) sponsored by the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts.

During the Holland Festival, Muziekgebouw and NIMk will present an exhibition with Marina Abramovic.
