Rental Conditions

All videoworks from the collection from the Netherlands Media Art Institute are available for rental. Orders may be placed by mail, email or fax .Video works from the NIMk collection are available for rental on DVD (PAL), Betacam SP (PAL) or as HD video file.

For other formats and all NTSC formats we charge additional production costs, determined by the length of the work; please contact the distribution staff for an estimate of the costs.
Rentals must have a scheduled screening date. For screenings outside the Netherlands, orders have to be placed at least 3 weeks before the screening date. For last minute orders we cannot guarantee videoworks are available.

All customers must sign agree to the Netherlands Media Art Institute Copyright Agreement to obtain the temporary screening rights to the works.

For exhibitions of videoworks these rates are stated per day.
1 day looptape € 75,- per title
subsequent days € 15,- per title

For longer periods we offer the following discount:
10 - 20 days 25%
21 - 30 days 35%
31 - 35 days 45%
longer periods 55%

For exhibitions of installations rental prizes differ per work. For information on fees, equipment, building conditions and shipment, please contact the distribution staff.

There is a shipping fee of € 4,- per tape for domestic orders. International shipping rates are determined by weight and the shipping service used. Packages being shipped by courier service are priced according to their current rates. International shipping arrangements must be determined upon confirmation of your order. You are responsible for all additional shipping costs, such as air-freight and customs charges for international orders, and rush-shipping charges for late orders.

Tape returns
Tapes must be returned immediately after the scheduled screening date, postmarked within a week after the screening. You are responsible for all return shipping costs.
Please note on all shipping documents that insured value is the replacement value; there is no commercial value.

Preview DVD, online previews and mediatheque
We can provide preview videoworks on request.

Image Requests, Texts and Promotional Materials
Image stills are available as digital files (jpeg or tiff). There can be a one week turn around for requests, so please contact us well in advance of your print deadline!

Short text descriptions of the works are available in our online catalogue. These texts may be used (also in edited form) for promotional purposes.

We encourage you to send us copies of any promotional materials, program notes, reviews or audience feedback that result from the screening of the programs.

Where possible, please credit the Netherlands Media Art Institute as the distributor on your print materials and online.

All programs are copyrighted and remain the property of the artist and The Netherlands Media Art Institute. Tapes may not be duplicated, copied, or reproduced in whole or in part; exhibited theatrically, broadcast or cablecast; lent, transferred, leased or subleased to any institution or individual; altered or excerpted in any way, without prior written consent of the Netherlands Media Art Institute.

After the institute receives an order, an invoice will be sent to you for payment. Tapes cannot be screened until payment is received. The invoice number must be noted on the transfer receipt to ensure proper billing credit. All orders from outside of the Netherlands: please fax a copy of the payment to us. This will avoid delays, as it takes several days for the bank to reflect your transferred funds.

All videoworks in the collection are available for purchase on VHS PAL for educational purposes (internal use libraries). The price is € 200,- excluding production costs. Production costs depend on the length of the tape, please contact us for an estimate of the costs.
Some of the videoworks and installations in the collection are available for sales with in-house exhibition rights, for museums / galleries. Prizes differ per work. For more information please contact us.
