Jan Fabre becomes churchwarden at the New Church in Amsterdam
This year, the Belgian artist Jan Fabre (b. Antwerp, 1958) has been chosen to serve as Church Warden of De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam. From 31 August until 30 September, he will have carte blanche in the church.
For De Nieuwe Kerk he has chosen an ensemble of works: films, live performances, and a sculpture that has never exhibited in the Netherlands before. His works are suffused with the symbolism of metamorphosis, the natural cycle of life, death, and rebirth.
Opening hours:
Daily: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
