NIMk @ PICNIC

Picnic the annual three-day event that blurs the lines between creativity, science, technology and business will take place on 14,15,16 September. They have taken a big step by moving the festival from its safe haven at the Westergasfabriek to the unfamiliar ground of the industrial NDSM wharf. There they have set their goal to investigate, build and reflect on the theme ‘Urban Futures’ by actually building a city together with their participants.

NIMk presents an inspirational video program illustrating the current en future consequences of modern city life while reflecting on demeaning factors such us economics, communication, politics and the role of technology with works by Sebastian Diaz Morales, Alicia Framis , Robert Hamilton, Mona Hatoum, Gabriel Lester, Mediashed, Nicolas Provost, Semiconductor and Mike Stubbs.

NIMk is also participant in the HOT100 workshop organized by Virtueel Platform. Together with DROPSTUFF, Hermen Maat and Karen Lancel we want to know if the HOT 100 participants come up with new ideas about useful interaction by the public with (media) art/ screen in public space.
