No Ghost: ANNLEE’s resurrection, 2007

Uncategorized gast @ 4:01 pm

i made this collage in 2007 as i was thinking about the issue of codependency between a nation and its leaders, lovers or as in this case—the maker and her artwork. in the back of my mind i had religion and belief, and also an image as a belief system once it’s announced as art. Pierre Bourdieu’s writing about symbolic capital (who announces a work as art?) circled me back to the artwork—death as way to preserve value. this project is, well…a form of resurrection. it was only a matter of time.
